<An independent profile from Iron Speed>

Recent clients have included The New York All Stars Project, SBLI, Tauck World Discovery, Pepsi Bottling, FIS (Financial Information Systems) and lesser-known organizations. Platforms have included SQL Server, Oracle, Access, Red Brick, FoxPro and FileMaker. Most have involved extensive reliance on Crystal Reports (for which I am a certified instructor) and use of stored procedures. Work for Tauck included the development of a data warehouse (AS400 DB2 to SQL Server) and associated data mart to support direct marketing efforts. The All Stars Project involves the development of a .NET n-tier event management and ticket box office system running on the SQL Server platform.

My career has spanned continents, cultures, diverse management and professional disciplines and always evolving technologies over more than 30 years. This began as a junior auditor struggling with the output of an IBM 1401 at Parke Davis in 1965 and continued through the Nineties in a series of lectures and articles on PC Database applications under the auspices of the Professional Association of Database Developers and the successful launch of a Database debugging product co-authored with Mac Rubel of DataBase Advisor fame. During this latter period I also postulated for Chemical Bank  “Formula Based Coding” to deal with complex financial models typical of Derivatives and other similar financial products. Documentation on the debugger and FBC can be found on my web site: http://www.fwdon.com.

Earlier clients since leaving the corporate world in 1982 have included Performance Dynamics, Chemical Bank, Bergen County Probation Dept.(NJ), Space Lasers (Italy), Realtime Consultants (NJ) and RP Scherer (Detroit).
